Silverstream Retreat has a superb range of venue options for any function or celebration. Whether your planning a milestone birthday celebration, glitzy awards dinner or festive Christmas function our unique venue and professional team of staff will make your event stress free and memorable. We have three function venues which can cater for up to 230 seated guests. The Grasslands, The Boardwalk complex incorporates an auditorium, cafe style space and boardwalk garden, and The Pillars has an accompanying private courtyard with rustic open fireplace.

We love hosting parties so you’ve come to the right place! We take care of everything — simply tell us what you want and we’ll set it up for you stress free so you and your guests can simply enjoy themselves and make great memories together.

You have a choice of three different lovingly-restored venues to suit your needs. Your guests can relax right from the start with free parking on site. Our impeccable team of staff will look after you providing excellent food and beverage tailored for your event, with bar service also available. If you’re not sure about anything, we can help.

After the party, if guests don’t want to go home, they can stay in our lovely on-site accommodation and wake up feeling relaxed and refreshed.

Silverstream Retreat isn’t your typical boring, dry conference venue. Such incredible facilities in a stunning setting make for a more memorable and engaging workplace event.

You can start the day with your meeting or conference, then head into a foyer with café style seating, lounge or balcony while our expert team turns your venue into a fantastic function for the evening, complete with custom menu and bar service. We can handle the guest flow between the events as we reset the room, or move you to a new room.

Our Function Manager can design a menu and plan your function to suit your budget. The Function Manager is supported by a professional front of house team who pride themselves in making your event a success. From cocktail afternoon teas in the garden, to elegant dinners, all aspects of your catering needs will be met. There are preset menus to help with your decision making, or a menu can be designed for you.

The Boardwalk

  • Mirrored projection with sound onto Boardwalk Foyer screen

Catering menu

  • A selection of club sandwiches

  • Chef’s homemade sausage rolls

  • A selection of hot savouries

  • Mini muffins

  • Fruit scones with chantilly cream and jam

  • Assorted baking slice

  • Freshly brewed filter coffee and tea

Fresh fruit platters and orange juice can be provided at an additional cost.
This is a set menu but can be tailored to suit your needs, or we can offer a refined function menu of your choice.

Facilities

The Boardwalk Foyer and Garden

Walking through the grand entrance doors you are greeted with a high ceiling shaped from rustic rafters, this flows to the foyer space and then out into the private Boardwalk garden. Large bi-fold doors lead out onto the garden landscaped with a combination of grass, rocks, wooden decking & a verandah.

A perfect space to gather together with a cuppa after the service.

The Foyer spaces allow room for refreshments to be laid out, along with casual seating for any overflow and a large 16:9 aspect ratio screen where we can mirror the image and sound of the service held in the main auditorium.

This space also has a fully equipped bar should you wish to offer this service to your guests. (minimum spend required).

The Boardwalk Auditorium

Flowing from the foyer through double doors you will find a modern rustic auditorium with high pitched exposed rafters. The auditorium includes full lighting & audio visual equipment, making it perfect for a 200-300 person funeral. It is complete with a large stage with a lectern and mic giving the ideal platform for a celebrant and other participants. In the event where additional seating is required attendees can overflow to the foyer space where they can hear & see the service via the screen.

Provision of an audio visual technician to run your slide show during the service can be provided upon availability at rate of $50 + GST /hour (Minimum 4 hours) Or check with your funeral director, they may provide this service.

Should you wish to record and/or live-stream your service, please ask us for recommendations of companies that provide this service.

Facilities

The Grasslands Foyer

Entering The Grasslands front doors, you are met with natural wooden rafters resembling a chapel ceiling, a well-appointed bar with encased in rustic railway sleepers, a cosy carpeted lounge space with couch seating & a spacious covered verandah creating relaxing views overlooking the Hutt River.

These spaces flow together allowing the perfect area to gather for refreshments after the service. The fully equipped bar can also be offered to your guests with a minimum spend.

The Grasslands Auditorium

Flowing through double doors adjacent to the foyer you will find the Grasslands Auditorium with it’s eye-catching exposed rimu beams, capacity for 50 - 180 guests seated in theatre style, Audio Visual technology, complete with dual projector screens and the lectern with microphone placed on the low-set stage. The Grasslands Auditorium is bathed in natural light with automated blinds that can be easily adjusted to your requirements.

Audio & Visual
